I am a board certified licensed physical therapist practicing in the state of California, USA with a special interest in posture and spine related musculoskeletal injuries.
After graduating with a Bachelors of Physiotherapy from K.J Somaiya College of Physiotherapy, Mumbai, India in 2012, I continued on to earn a Masters of Science in Advanced Physiotherapy Practice in 2014 with an emphasis in Spine Rehabilitation from Coventry University in Coventry, United Kingdom. Being multilingual with fluency in English, Gujarati, Punjabi, Hindi and Marathi and a trained Telehealth Therapist, I am continuing to remotely provide patient care with corrective ergonomic, postural, and movement advice. I am also a Certified Posture Specialist (CPS) which gives me an eye to identify abnormal postures and help in correcting them. I have received additional education in the treatment of musculoskeletal injuries of the spine including Mulligan and Maitland manual therapy techniques for neck and back. To understand movements in depth, I have also completed my Level 1 training of Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA).
My professional training in Contemporary and Bollywood dancing provides me with a unique philosophy in the effects of movement patterns on one's well being and have also been able to combine this with my Physiotherapy training and manual therapies to offer robust techniques in the treatment of neck and back issues affected by the modern lifestyle. I strongly believe in custom tailored treatments and heavily promote the role of proper posture as an important component in an individual's overall well-being. I strive everyday to recognize impaired movement patterns and treat them to the best of my abilities.
Outside of the clinic, I am a full-time mom to my little boy and an active Blogger and love to contribute fitness content for patients and the physical therapy community. Follow me on my Socials for more updates.
